Having a 'me' day.

So today I am having a me day. I had a little lie in, I wanted it to be longer but alas I couldn't sleep in on my day off, always seems to happen. So I just lazed about in bed for a little and did a blog post and then eventually dragged myself downstairs, watched a little Jeremy Kyle and had a cuppa tea. All day I've been watching Ugly Betty Season 2 (so happy CEX had it this time) and now I am just making myself a lovely homemade curry. Later I will have a long soak in a hot bath, put on my favorite Lush face mask and just chill.

Do you all have 'me' days and what do you get up to? Having a fab 'me' day here.

Payday Purchases and Sample Haul.

So yet again Wednesday is my favorite day, its payday! I had to go shopping for a few beauty products of course and I walked straight into the doors of Lush, addicted a little. I've been raving about their products lately as they have dramatically improved my skin so I wanted to go back and get a few more things, for my hair and for my skin but I didn't get as much as I'd have wanted, I have said some cash for Tuesday as then I know whatever is left, I can spend on more. As of lately I have also somehow managed to get quite a few samples, some asked for, some gifted to me from the lovely Clarins ladies in the mall and some just gave to me. So without further or do here goes!

So the first thing on my list to buy at Lush was some new hair conditioner. I have been using the Jungle bar and as much as I love it I feel like it isn't giving me quite enough condition. Like I said i'm not sure if this is me being used to heavy conditioners as the 'norm' or if the bar really isn't that good so I thought if I gave another one a try and it was too much I could just use it as a treatment and continue using Jungle. I had a small look over the website to see what reviews people had wrote about certain ones and the one that seemed to top trump them all was Retread. It is a conditioner that is described as a 'heavy weight conditioner that is full of ingredients to fuel your hair up again and get it back out on the road.' It is pretty much exactly that. It is a VERY heavy conditioner (I feel a little too heavy for me) that left my hair feeling very conditioned but when I woke up in the morning it had a slight greasy texture to my hair and it was quite hard to style. I'm not sure if I used maybe too much but it does state you should apply loads to hair and leave it on. I think this is going to be much more of a treatment I may use in the week once and just use less of it for my hair. It was £9.50 for 245g which is quite a set back for a conditioner but bearing in mind I used a little too much, I think it will last me a fair few weeks.

The next product I wanted to buy was a moisturizer as my skin was doing amazing with my facial products so far but I wanted a light base to go under my makeup and keep me feeling soft and keep my makeup looking fresh. I did ask the sales assistant about this the day before I purchased it and she gave me a sample of Celestial and Skin’s Shangri La. I tried the Celestial the morning of payday and have to admit my skin did feel quite nice and my makeup stayed on for most of the day. At £11.50 for 45g it is one of the cheaper moisturizers that Lush do, considering the other sample I was given was £27.50 for 45g I think its not a bad price. Anyways I have only used my sample up, I'm yet to give the big pot a go but my skin does feel quite soft when I use this and you do have to apply it in upwards motions I guess to encourage circulation in the skin. I will keep giving this a go and report back in a week or so about it.

The last little thing I bought at Lush was a Shampoo bar tin, my GoDiva bar had no storage and I felt a little bit sad about it. The tin is perfect and keeps the shampoo bar out of the way and dry, however it is a bugger to open and close. That's really all I can say about the tin, its pretty much a bulk standard storage metal tin but its from Lush and the shampoo bar fits in so I had to have it.

I went to Superdrug in the hope they had restocked the Accessorize pallete that I wanted and THEY DID. I was so excited to purchase this, its still on offer from £8.95 to £5.95 and its so pretty. They all look like little jewels. I have used three of the colours for a work shift and they looked lovely to begin with but sadly did fade a little quicker than I liked but I don't usually build them up a lot so that may have been my problem. I will see how it goes and let you know. The pigmentation of them though is lovely.

Anyways onto the sample haul. I seem to have aquired lots of samples over the past few months and I am determined to use them all and report back to see if they are purchase worthy. The first 3 I have are some from Body Shop that I aquired whilst working at La Senza. These samples are Strawberry Body Butter (full size retails for £12.50 but is on a 50% off promotion currently), Ginger Body Scrub (full size retails for £3 in the sale) and Spiced Vanilla Shower Gel (full size retails for £2 in the sale) These samples were given to me around the December ish time so I think the last two samples are older products as they do feature on the website's current sale.

I also managed to get two more samples from Lush, after the success of having Ultrabland's sample and LOVING the product I thought this would be the best way to try a product before I spent a lot of money on them. If you ask nicely and just say your unsure, they do usually offer but if not just out right ask them nicely and they won't be rude about it. I got the Celestial moisturizer and the Skin’s Shangri La. Celestrial is £11.50 for 45g and the Skin’s Shangri La is £27.50 for 45g also. I have actually repurchased Celestrial but I have not tried the other one just yet, I'm saving it for a special occasion in the hope its AMAZING and will really condition my face.

The next samples I have are from Clarins. Now I have NEVER tried Clarins but a lot of you beauty bloggers rave about their products so I am very much looking forward to giving these a try. The ones I have been given are the Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel (full size retails between £10-£12), Gentle Night Cream (full size retails between £28-£30) and Pure Melt Cleansing Gel (full size retails between £10-£15). I'm not sure how these products will fair but I will give them a good old try and let you girls know.

The last sample I was given yesterday was from some Nivea scouts, they gave me two Nivea Soft samples which have been released in new packaging to promote them to fashion worthy people. The full size pot retails for about £4-£7 but i'm not sure about the new packaging ones. They may be on a promotion or something but I will give this a little test and will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for reading, not sure if that was really any interest to any of you but let me know if you want to know anymore about these products or want to just leave some feedback about featured products in this post. Thankyou!

Knowing me, knowing you.

So today is finally one of those infamous days off, but I appear to have woke up a little too early for my liking. I will be doing a big post later about some new payday purchases and I may also do a 'my skin care regime' as it has had a TOTAL overhaul and its working amazingly for my skin. I found this post on http://www.lipssofacto.com/ and I love reading her blog and thought it'd be cool for some of you to know some random facts and things about me, getting personal as such so here goes.

Lush Facial Skincare.

(All images used from the Lush website - www.lush.co.uk)

Now I am a girl who will hunt and hunt for a good face product, thinking I had find a few sound products such as my 3in1 Neutrogena Facial Toner and Simple's Eyemakeup Remover. But nothing could have prepared me for the WOW factor I have had from giving Lush's skincare a go. I am converted. I have not touched one of my other facial products in over a week. This has come from using Lush's Ultrabland Cleanser and Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Facemask. Seriously I have used both these products together now for about 5 days roughly and I have such good skin, its amazing. I haven't had hardly any spots, no blemishes and my makeup glides on like a dream!  I used to love walking into Lush when I was little and being overpowered by the amazing smells and sites in there. Now its caught back up with me in my older years and I am so glad I have reinvested in this company. It has inspired me to be more natural with my products and just to be more careful with my skin and my hair.

The shampoo and conditioner bars that I also bought have been a dream, more the shampoo than the conditioner. My hair feels squeaky clean without it being overly abused and has never been this soft and manageable ever, considering the underside has been bleached and dyed twice this is amazing. I sometimes don't even need to straighten my hair, that's hardly ever happened.

I will be going back to purchase loads more of their facial products and will even test out a few skin and bath products too. I know I want to go back and try a moisturizer, I may ask for a sample as last time I did (I got the UltraBland cleanser) I had to go back and buy the bigger pot. I'm thinking maybe the SkinDrink moisturizer or the Celestial moisturizer. I also would be quite interested in trying their Color Supplements in the Jackie Oates which can be used as a tinted moisturizer if you mix it with your daily moisturizer or as a pure foundation if you use the color supplement straight. I also would like to either repurchase the Catastrophe Cosmetic facemask or try a new one and go with the Cupcake one which smells and looks like chocolate, YUMMY.

Anyways this was just a quick post to say how amazing the products that I have already purchased are and how I will be buying a lot more in the future so keep an eye out for more of me big up Lush and I will do some reviews soon. If you'd like to know anymore on the products I have used (GoDiva Shampoo bar, Jungle Conditioner bar, UltraBland Cleanser, Catastrophe Cosmetic facemask) then please feel free to leave a question and I'll get straight back to you!

Payday Purchases and Update.

I'm so sorry, I hadn't realized my last post was just about a week ago now. Work has been so hectic as my boss went on holiday so it was a few more days of my 10 hour shifts so I haven't really had any time for life let alone for my blog, apologies. Anyways I do have a bit of an exciting post for you. It was payday last Wednesday and I've gone a bit made and spent loads of it already on new products or products I've heard about. Anyways lets get started! So the first thing I wanted to purchase was the Accessorize pallete in Lovely Day so I marched into Super drug and frantically searched to find it was offer from £8.95 down to £5.95. I got a little excited and then noticed they had NO stock left, and no stock left in the back. Gutted, but whilst at the Accessorize station I noticed that their Pressed Powder was down from £5.95 or £4.95 to £2.95. I needed some new powder and I've heard how these products are actually really good and the packaging is SO cute (I haven't had a chance to photograph it yet as it was actually my last purchase but its lovely with the leopard and flower print) and on the inside its got a little plastic open and close lid that stops the powder from getting crushed in your bag or on the move, brilliant. Whilst there I noticed they had a £0.49p bargain bin and found a few little things I thought I'd give a whirl. The first two finds were these Eyeko Lip Gloss tins in Creamy Cupcake and in Rosy Pink, the cute packaging had caught my eye and I've heard of the new before so I thought i'd give them a shot.

I also saw a bow of Eyeko Face Off Cleansing wipes, I like these as they were individually wrapped and I thought they'd be good to keep in my makeup bag if i'm caught short at a friends or the boyfriends and I forgot to pack my makeup remover. There was also a boxed Fat Balm in Strawberry from Eyeko and I got a highlighting pen in an adorable box (forgot to photo sorry) which I have used once and actually seems like a really nice highlighter, it has a little twisty end and then you blend once its on your face, perfect.

The last thing I found in the bargain bin was this Elite white shimmer powder, it doesn't actually have any instructions or any indication of what it's actually for but I will try it as a highlighting powder I think as it looks like that sort of texture and shimmer.

Now over the past few days whilst being ill I made a post about a No-Poo detox for my hair and I've stuck to my guns, purchased the products and have used them for two washes already and my hair feels amazing. I purchased the GoDiva Shampoo 2in1 bar and the Jungle Conditioner

The Godiva is AMAZING. It smells so lovely, slightly coconut and jasmine fragrance and its brilliant yellow color is gorgeous. It gives off a lovely smell and a good lather when you use it, I lather it in my hand and then spread and rub the bar into specific areas. I didn't think it would actually work that well but I can still smell it in my hair this morning which is amazing to wake up to and my hair is actually really soft, I think that the added cocoa butter really helps to condition the hair. This is an amazing buy for 55g at £6.00 that also claims to last 60-80 washes, I will be buying this again when I have finished my bar.

The Jungle conditioner has its ups and downs. It doesn't look as attractive as the shampoo bars, its just a plain green color but it does smell very nice. It was a fruity essence to it and also contains cocoa butter. Now on the website and in store they claimed this just gave a light condition that would help to tame hair and I'm not sure if its because i'm used to bottled ones that I feel it isn't giving enough condition to my hair, but my hair is a LOT easier to handle in the mornings. It has a slightly 'day old' feel to it but sometimes that's really handy as fly away soft hair has to be tamed with products. It doesn't give off a huge lather and you have to quite vigorously rub it into your hair and the dry areas but with its buttery consistency its not a huge let down. Again you get 55g for but the cheaper price this time of £2.95 but I can see this not lasting too long as I have to use more conditioner than shampoo and i'd say my bar is a lot smaller than when I photographer it yesterday.

After these two quite amazing buys I had to go back to Lush and rave to them they were amazing and mention that I was interested in trying a few more products. I had a browse and came across the Cupcake face mask which had a lovely strong brown chocolate color to it and smelt amazing. The women said it was more for oily skin which i don't really have and I mentioned I normally get a few blemishes and spots. She suggested the Catastrophe Cosmetic mask that was displayed with blueberries and had a lovely blueish color to it. I gave it a whiff and it smelt so nice and fresh. I had to have it there and then. I purchased the 75g pot, it only comes in one size unforgivably due to its freshness they do have expiry dates and have to be kept in the fridge. Mine runs out on the 17/07 which is a shame but I'm sure I will have used it up by then. It cost me £5.95 for this pot and I used it last night for the first time and have to say my skin feels a lot smoother than it did before. I haven't really analyzed the results in a mirror yet but I will have a few more plays with it and let you all know when I have finished. I'm sure I will probably be re-purchasing and if not this one then another flavor will be on the cards. (Mine was a little watery on top but once I mixed it in it got thicker with the underneath section)

Whilst buying the face mask the lovely assistant said she was going to give me a sample of the Ultra Bland Cleanser, I thought why not and took the sample as she insisted. She said it was take off all my makeup and give me a perfect base for my face mask, she wasn't joking. This stuff is AMAZING. I have to go buy some more, I used it last night and I am hooked. Thankfully my sample pot still has quite a lot left in it, maybe another 2 uses so I will repurchase as soon as I am finished with that. It has a slightly grainy oily texture to it but it basically melts away any makeup, including eye makeup that is waterproof. I popped it in, rubbed it in like she said and wiped it off in the bath with warm soaked cotton pads, you don't have to be in the bath but it was easier considering I was already having one. The makeup wiped off like a dream, I didn't even have to press down very hard for it to come off. I was speechless. It contains Almond Oil, Rose Water, Beeswax, Honey, Fresh Iris Extract and some other things but the smell is so nice as well as the texture is perfect for skin. Its light and yet also does the job of removing your makeup. At £6.45 for 45g or £10.45 for 100g I think I will carry on with my sample and probably go and buy the big pot as you get double for an extra £4. You really don't need a lot of this product either but it goes a long long way.

Sorry for the huge rant about these products but I was seriously amazed with my buys this week. I will be going back to Lush (I have rediscovered my love for their products and be purchasing a few more to keep your eyes peeled) If you have any further questions just feel free to ask. Thanks for reading!

The 'No-Poo' Detox For Hair.

So since working in my new job (instead of being in central Bristol I am now on the outskirts inside The Mall Cribbs Causeway) I have found a new love for shops that were not near my older work. It basically just meant that shopping was a huge effort and sometimes I can be quite lazy. After seeing that The Mall had FINALLY opened a Lush I had a little wonder the other day and I have always loved how Lush smells when you walk in the doors, wow. I was surrounded by pretty natural products and then two sales assistants ran towards me trying to sell me things but put me off a little. I like to just look and make up my own mind. The only good thing I gained from this was one of the girls showing me a demo of a Shampoo Bar. I was a little weird'd out as to how you can have shampoo in a bar form, let alone her raving that one bar can give you between 60-80 washes. At only £5-£6 depending on the one you buy I was a little confused and bedazzled at the same time. I usually just grab shampoo in a 3for2 offer from Boots and I'm done for a few weeks.

(Gentle Lentil Shampoo Bar - Lush)

Whilst being sat in bed all day (ill again, doctors visit for me tomorrow) I have just been watching a few Youtube guru's and looking at their huge collections of Lush products, raving about their natural ingredients and blah blah. I wanted to have a look at the shampoo bar reviews as this girls words popped back into my head and along these lines discovered a 'No-Poo' hair diet. Ummm ... Okay? This sounds a little gross and strange. You basically don't wash your hair with any shampoos, conditioners only, some even go to the lengths of not using conditioner but rinsing their hair with cider vinegar? This was apparently the normal thing to do before shampoo was actually invented. Many 'guru's' claim it is great for your damaged hair and helps to regain the condition of damaged hair due to you minimizing the amount of chemicals you are using. I actually really want to try this now! So I am about to jump in the bath and use my last few bits of shampoo as I will also do for the next few days until I get a chance to walk into Lush and let the detox of my hair begin. I have already decided to try the Godiva bar which is a 2in1 shampoo and conditioner bar or the Gentle Lentil Solid Shampoo but I will probably also purchase the Jungle conditioner bar. These are both made of completely natural ingredients and I figure I may not be following the exact rules of the No-Poo detox but it can't help to cut out a few chemicals.

If you want any more details on these bars and reviews, check Youtube or go to the Lush website - https://www.lush.co.uk/. I will keep you all updated on when I start, how it goes and what I think. Wish me luck ladies!

A few more recent purchases.

I've been having a lot of trouble lately with my stomach which is causing me to be sick quite a lot, inside the house and out in public (embarrassing much) so I've been treating myself to a few little things in the hopes to cheer me up or at least make me look good through it happening. I had two of the No7 £5 off vouchers and previously bought the cleansing water (I have used it once and it does have its ups and downs but all in all its quite a goo product, even if a lot doesn't go a very long way)

I also purchased a Bourjois Little round pot of Blusher the other day in shade 74 Rose Ambre but when I got home it was in really bad condition, the blusher itself was flat and dry, not domed and smooth like it should be and the brush was missing. I marched back to Boots the other day with my receipt and couldn't find any left in this shade. I panicked and had a little scatter through them all to find just one left in my shade which had bee strategically hidden behind other shades but I found it, go me. I took it to the desk with mine and politely explained and the women was a little shocked at the state of blusher i'd originally bought and swapped them for me straight away. I'm now over the moon with my beautiful new shade and can't wait to start using it!

I then realized I was running out of concealer so picked up the Quick Cover in number 02 Extra Fair for a bargain of just £3.00!

I also went charity shop shopping the other day with my mum and she noticed this box of Bene-tint for just £1.00, it hadn't even been used from what I could see and was full to the brim, I had to grab it for myself for just £1.00. I have tried to use a cheaper version of this before by Collection 2000 and didn't really get along with it but I will give this a go for the price it cost me, its hardly a loss.

I did also manage to bag a BEAUTY of a purse (If you've read my Purse Hunt post you will know how hard I've been struggling to find one) at a St Peters Hospice the same one I got the Bene Tint from for £5.00, it was brand new and from Dune, very impressed with myself. I will show you that when I do my 'Whats in my Bag' post. Thanks for reading!
